Why your child’s GCSE Geography grade isn’t matching the work

A conversation about your child, and whether the Blueprint is the right fit.

This is not a presentation about the programme. Almost all of it is spent on your child’s own situation and what you both want from this year. 45 minutes, with a member of our team, and three things to walk away with.

Where your child is now, and what they’re aiming for

Their current grade, their exam board, and what they and you want to get to. Usually the conversation ends up on what happens when they sit down to answer a 6 or 9 mark question, not on how much content they know.

What tends to be holding a grade back at this level

Command words, case study evidence, long answer structure, or confidence. We talk through which of these fits your child, because the right support looks different depending on which one it is.

Whether the Blueprint is a fit, not a vague next step

What the weekly classes involve, the schedule, and the cost. You get all of it on the call, so you leave with a decision you can actually make, not homework to go and find answers yourself.

And if the Blueprint is not right for your child, we will say so on the call and tell you what we would do instead. Classes stay under ten students, so a place given to the wrong fit is a place taken from a child it would have worked for.

Read this part honestly first.

Book the call if

Your child is in Year 10 or Year 11 and you want a genuine 7, 8 or 9, not just a pass
They can commit to one live class a week, plus a few hours of their own work
Your child wants the grade, rather than you wanting it on their behalf
You would rather pay once for the right support than three times for the cheapest

Do not book if

You are choosing between tutors mainly on price
You are looking for one to one lessons, since every class here is a small group
Your child is not willing to hand work in, or wants no part of this at all
You want general homework help across several subjects rather than Geography properly

If you are in the first column, the 45 minutes is worth your evening. If you are in the second, better that you know now than after we have both given up an evening.

Two real grade jumps. Neither started with more knowledge.

Worth saying plainly before you read these. Classes are kept under ten students, so there is no wall of five star reviews here and I am not going to invent one. Judge the method on whether it makes sense to you, and judge us on the call itself. Those are the two honest things to go on.

Is this call just a sales pitch, or a call to sell me a programme?

No. If that is all it was, it would not be worth 45 minutes of your evening and we know it.

You will speak with a member of our team about your child’s current situation, what you and they want from this year, and what tends to be holding a grade back at this level. That is what the call is actually for.

If it is not the right fit we will tell you and say what we would do instead. Classes stay under ten students, so putting the wrong child in one takes the place from a child it would have worked for.

Who should be on the call?

You, your child if you can manage it, and the other parent if they are part of the decision.

Bringing your child matters more than anything else here. Our team will ask them directly what they want out of this, with you listening. If the goal belongs to you and not to them, far better to find that out now than in week three.

What does the Blueprint actually involve each week?

One live class a week, taught in a group of under ten, running from now through to the final GCSE exams. Every class is recorded so your child can go back over anything.

There is a marked assessment every month, checked against your child’s real exam board mark scheme by a senior examiner, with written feedback naming what to change next. Classes are weekday evenings, usually between six and eight, and we expect around two to four hours of your child’s own work each week on top.

My child is already getting 7s. Is this only for students who are behind?

The opposite, in a lot of cases. Angela was already strong across her subjects when she came to us. She was predicted a 6 and reached a 9 in ten weeks.

The distance between a 7 and a 9 is almost never more content. It is analysis, evaluation and application in the long answer questions, which is exactly what the programme is built around.

Can we still join partway through the year?

Usually yes, depending on whether there is still a place in the group for your child’s year. We will be straight with you about that on the call rather than squeezing anyone in.

Starting earlier is genuinely better though, and not because of pressure. Exam technique takes months to become second nature, and the students who are calm in the exam hall are the ones who built it early rather than crammed it late.

What does it cost?

You get the exact figure and the payment options on the call. It is not on this page because it depends on your child’s year group and how long they have left.

What I will say now is that it is not the cheapest Geography support you will find. Most families who reach us have already tried something cheaper, and that is usually why they are calling.

Is the Blueprint right for your child?

If you are confident that what is already in place will get them where they want to be, you do not need this call. If there is any doubt at all, take the 45 minutes.
